Excellent flash! I was nervous about using an external flash since I am new in using those. The SB-600 resolved all my fears by literally working straight out of the box in a seamless manner with my D40. Perfect communication between the camera and the flash! I'd buy this flash over the SB-400 since you get so much more flexibility with the 600. The SB-800 would be nice but it is frankly, overkill at my current skill-set.
