Very seldom will something in life live up to your expectations, especially when its as hyped as this famous piece of glass.
But this lens, quite simply, did just that - and more.
I can shoot away at f2.8 wide open and know that the subject will be critically sharp, whilst rendering the background into the mother of all buttery bokehs.
I have a lot of good glass, mainly "L" stuff, but this stands out as something really, really special. Oh, and initial tests suggest that it does indeed give a very sharp 840mm with stacked TC's, with negligible image degradation.
