I've bought the sigma 17-50 2.8 and I may keep it but not very happy with it, as at the shorter focal lengh distortion at the edges of the image is extreme, very bad. In the center is not very sharp. However in medium and longer focal lengh everything seems acceptable. Also I dislike a noise that the image stabilizator makes with the lens out of the camera and in vertical position, as I shake it sofly sidewards.
