Good all-around lens on DX format bodies if you don't need the wider angle, a good lightweight alternative to the 24-70 f/2.8 on FX. This lens primarily lives on the front of my D2X and it focuses faster than any other non AF-S lens I've used. I've also used it on a D3 and had no issues with sharpness once the lens is closed down a stop to f/4. It does easily flare, and the barrel distortion is slightly noticeable on a full-frame camera, but not anything uncorrectable in post.
