I exchanged my 70-200/4L for this mean machine and all I can say is that I'm very impressed. The 4L is an excellent lens, even moreso considering its size and price, but it is also a sunshine lens. I got the 2.8 in order to be able to use a 2x every once in a while without losing AF and all I can say is that I'm 100% positive that the 2.8L IS is the best lens that I have ever owned...
...now back to the gym ;-)
