Pros:

sharp - even wide-opened, wide enough for almost everything (10mm!), fast and precise ring-usm, optical performance.

Cons:

its bit pricy, no real weather sealing.

Its optical quality is everything what you can expect from good wide-angle zoom (very few CA@wide-opened, reasonable distortions, sharp etc)
I have used this lens with 20D for crowd shots in busy exhibition shows and general views and I can only praise the AF speed, accuracy.
Only thing I am missing is weather sealing, but what can we do if canon policy is so.
