Lucky to get this lens - picked it up from a seller in Germany.
I use it on both my D700 and D7000.
Well built.
I'm pleasantly surprised by the quality of images.
Sharp, nice colors and beautiful bokeh.
It's a gem of a lens!

I picked up this little gem a few days ago. I have 2 Nikon D700 bodies but prefer to use this now. Yes - in that short space of time. I don't know why it's rated as an enthusiast's camera. Whatever it does, it does extremely well. Those 16 megapixels are the cleanest I have ever seen. The best camera I've owned. Period. Nikon - go make a full frame like this.

Switched from Canon 5D Mk ii a week ago. Should have done so much sooner. The 21MP Canon does not even come close to the 12MP Nikon D700. It was very expensive switching from Canon to Nikon because I had the L lens collection and had to build my Nikon system from scratch - but worth every cent. The Nikon D700 is built like a tank and handles like a dream. It's heavier than the Canon but something I can live with. It's now my main camera for wedding photography.

Sharpest lens I own.
Beats any canon L lens I owned.
Better than any Nikon lens I currently own.
Received on Friday. Used for a wedding yesterday (Saturday). I'm amazed at the quality. It's going to stay on my Nikon D300. Can't wait for my Tokina 11-16!
