Canon EOS 5D

5d_586x225_2_
Review Date: Mar 15, 2008 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $2,000.00 | Rating: 10

Pros: FF, low noise high ISO performance,
Cons:

I can actually use my lens as they were designed, 24mm is wide again. IQ is excellent, Build quality is very good.

While I know there are 3rd party split ring focusing screens available it would be nice if Canon would make one available for the 5D. I'm a purist at heart and prefer MF & Manual Exposure over auto anything.

Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II

Review Date: Mar 15, 2008 Recommend? yes | Price paid: Not Indicated | Rating: 9

Pros: Value, IQ
Cons:
Build Quality, ease of MF

Build quality is laughable - that said this is probably the best value based on price to IQ.

If you plan to MF this is not the lens to use.

Sigma 100-300mm f4 EX IF HSM APO

Review Date: Mar 15, 2008 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $840.00 | Rating: 10

Pros: Sharp, build quality, overall value
Cons:
weight

Bought new & it front focused - a quick trip to sigma (2 day turn around) corrected AF problem. This lens is extremely sharp & contrasty, handles the Sigma 1.4 TC extremely well. Build quality is excellent.
