It was purchased by a family member for use on an XTi. I use it on a 5D ii and it rocks! I just completed a magazine shoot and the client was very pleased! Little did they know I did the entire shoot with a nifty 50!
The build quality - metal mount if fine. Have only used it for AF, but MF seems to work ok.
