Pros:
IS, IS, IS !!!
Very sharp at around 135mm even wide open, or from f4.5 or smaller apertures
Cons:
a bit soft wide open at both end, definitely not comparable to primes.
heavy and big!
Optical performance of its 135mm is comparible to the 135mm/2. The IS enable me to take a reasonable clear shot at 1/30s and 400mm (Kenko pro300 2XTC).

Pros:
sharp and constrasty
compact
Cons:
a bit slow and noisy AF.
quite filmsy feel near the af/m button.
flare

I move from 50/1.8 and note this 50/1.4 to be much more accuracy in focusing, especially in large apertures. Canon should have supply the hood with this lens.

Excellent handling and balance with 10D

Nothing. Just a bit long on the 10D.
Looking forward to using this lens in a full frame DSLR.

I noted that the "MKI", older products with hard case, is a bit warmer than the recent "MKII".

Best price/performance next to the 50/1.8II. Makes a good standard lens on the 1.6X cropped D60/10D.
