Canon EOS 5D

Pros: Low noise, quiet shutter, resolution, full frame controls
Cons:
none

If you have had a nagging feeling way down deep, since you switched from film to digital, that digital was lacking in several areas. . . the Canon 5D is the answer to those feelings.

It begins when you put the camera up to your eye and frame your first picture. Large, bright and clear.

When you push the "soft shutter", the feel and sound of the shutter slapping (very quiet) will remind you of your old film cameras. Very reassuring.

The LCD is bigger and easier for viewing.

I was equally as pleased when I took my first shots using the 580EX and 24-70L. I used up a 2gig card without a single exposure problem and no soft shots whatsoever.

This is the camera that I thought I was going to get when I switched from film to my 10D.

Pros: SHARP, fast, good color rendition, nice hefty weight to it.
Cons:
None.

Replaced my Sigma 24-70 2.8 with the purchase of my 5D. With the full-frame of the 5D, the 24-70 2.8L acts like the lenses I was used to with my film cameras. This lens is tack sharp at every setting I have tried, so far. I can once again take reasonable shots in a small room without needing a super wide lens.

Pros: Aperture, build, sharpness, reasonably fast focusing
Cons:
Focus noise, 2 step manual focus

Extreme step-up from my Sigma 24-135 2.8-4.5. Focuses reasonably fast for my purposes. Very sharp, good color. Have not found a soft spot, yet.

I like the size (82mm), weight and feel. Very secure feeling to have on the camera. I will have no problem trusting this for processional and recessional shots at weddings.

This lens is a steal at these prices.
