Pros: Sharp and lightweight. Convenient zoom range. Excellent value for the money.
Cons:
Can be sensitive to flare.

This is a great lens and perhaps gives the best bang for the buck of any Canon lens except for the 50mm f1.8. I have shot about 500 pictures, mostly outside, since getting it two weeks ago. Very good color and sharpness. I love the size, zoom range and weight. The only negative I have found is that in certain situations, contrast is reduced due to flare (even with a hood). Focus is fast and right on the mark. I must have a good copy since this zoom is very close in sharpness to my Canon 85mm f1.8. My 50mm f1.8 is sharper and a bit more color saturated. I now use this lens most of the time on my 20D. Eventually I will go for an L, but for now, this lens is all I need.
