Pros:

Nice randge. Solid build.

Cons:

Soft, soft, soft

First one was a dud. Erratic focussing and overall softness made it useless, just a very expensive paperweight!
Second one was slightly better but still very far from what one would expect from L glass. ( I also use a 70-200mm L and a 35mm L ) even my 10-22 mm produces better results...
Third one (direct from Canon Canada) was just like the second one... SOFT !
After 6 months of back and forth to Canon service center and many phone calls and hundreds of pictures I couldnt use, I gave up on this lens... and I after reading the reviews of the new 24-105mm I am not even tempted to try it.
If you enjoy testing lenses these are good choices but if you need sharp high quality glass to produce consistent high quality work, forget it.

I bought this lens new and I am extremely unhappy with this product, it is simply useless for any pro. work. I also use a 10-22mm and a 70-200mm f4 L and I am very satisfied with those lens. The lens was brought to Canon service center in Montreal where it was "calibrated". I cant see any change. I intend to have this lens replace.
