Got mine a week ago and is on it,s way back to shop I did some research on the lens before buying and it ticked all the boxes just sad mine doesnt now i,m scratching my head to see what I will get to replace it!

I recently got a D700 and sold my D300 which was a mistake. Unless you shoot at very high iSO then stick with this one. Don,t get carried away with the hype of full frame like I did.

The D700 is good but to me not worth the extra I paid for the D300. If I had the choice again I wouldn't be in such a rush to change. I have the 24-70 lens with this camera and get good results but feel it,s all to expensive

Battery life is awful and battery compartment door fiddly
|

Camera feels good and solid in your hands focus locks on quickly in good light. Images straight out of camera are good but nothing special. The battery life on the camera is awful about 120 images out of a charge. took it back the shop to have it tested but nothing wrong with camera I get about 400 images out of my canon 20d.
