I have waited for this lens for a long time (always out of stock in Hong Kong). It is a wonderful lens. As mentioned by others, the 135F2L is one of the sharpest lenses of Canon. This one is a must if you are a prime lover.
The 135F2L delivers very good images even using my old 300D. Should have wonderful result if it is mounted on a 5D or 1D series body.
You may check out some of my below par shots using this lens from my gallery.

Pros:

Very sharp, fast focus, great color and contrast, black, relatively light weight (when compare with the white L zoom)
|
|
Cons:
|
a bit long on a 1.6x camera.

This is a very sharp prime. Great for taking outdoor/street portrait. Also a good head-hunter when using with 580EX for indoor event.
The color and contrast are great, "L" standard for sure. This prime sometimes makes me feel that my 300D could not fully utilize the sharpness and resolution render by this lens.
Samples photos of my beloved 200 F2.8L are collected in the link below:

Warning: this lens spoils you ! You will keep wanting to buy other "L" primes, such as 85 F1.2L and 135 F2L, after using this lens. You will not forgive yourself for getting less than razor sharp image with this lens (hand shaking, low shutter speed, etc.).

Pros:

sharp, good color and contrast, light weight

Cons:

the lens hood is nearly useless. Some distortion over the edge, but not series in my 300D.

This is a very decent WA lens given the price. Sharp at F4 and very sharp when stop down. The most pleasing aspects are that the color retention and contract are very good. These make the key differences between it and the kit lens.

Pros:

Very sharp, relatively light weight, inexpensive (when compare with the "L" lenses), fast focus, F1.8
|
|
Cons:
|
slightly soft at F1.8 (but still rather sharp)

I worked with this lens for over 6 months. It is a very fast and sharp lens with rather good bokeh. Given the price, it is a very good lens for portrait and low light conditions. You need to go for those famous "L" primes (like the 85 F1.2L, 135 F2L and 200 F2.8L) to beat the sharpness of this lens.
