After careful comparison at several focal lengths and aperatures, my copy is better in every test shot versus the Canon L. I use Canon L's at other focal lengths (70-200L IS and 100-400L IS) so I too know what a tack sharp lens is, and this is every bit of that. I don't have any cons. You get more than what you pay for (especially if the Canon sets the value). My zoom is not loose like a prior reviewer. I've used it extensively and feel no change in the tension of the zoom.
