Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM

ef10028lmisu_586x225
Review Date: Oct 22, 2009 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $1,050.00 | Rating: 10

Pros: Excellent build quality, Hybrid IS very effective, bokeh is just fantastic, razor sharp, lightweight, very silent focus and IS
Cons:
a little pricey, limited for insects but perfect for flowers, it is not possible to remove the lens cap while the hood is on

My first Macro lens, I always wanted to option to shoot close, and I learned that this lens can be used for many more purposes, portraits indoor/low light shots, the hybrid IS is a BIG difference from the regular IS
the image couldn't be sharper
very good lens, I recommend it to anyone as a 100mm lens AND a s a macro lens

Canon EOS Rebel XSi (450D)

Canon450D
Review Date: Mar 29, 2009 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $700.00

Pros: VERY GOOD IMAGE QUALITY, Strong Built, it will never fall apart, LCD is big and clear, the 1.6 crop factor is great on 70-200 and bigger lenses, LIVE view IS very useful, it is very light and portable, great for taking pictures discretely, the body does not "impress" as much as the **D series 5D or 1D and half the weight ! ISO quality is ok. compatible with the best efs lenses I cite the awesome 17-55mm 2.8 IS
Cons:
AF Could be more precise, View Finder is too small and very uncomfortable. the grip is too small and does not fit a male hand, it can become uncomfortable over time, SD cards are really slow and not compatible with any Canon EOS, the crop factor is very annoying on prime lenses and wide angle zoom (except EFS), the dial and all control buttons at concentrated in the right side make it hard to use the camera,

Sexy little Beast

Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM

ef50mmf_14usm_1_
Review Date: Nov 2, 2008 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $320.00 | Rating: 8

Pros: VERY sharp after f/2.0 , small and portable, very light, 50mm leads to nice compositions
Cons:
you pay to have a f/1.4 lens that you cannot use at 1.4 !!, if you are looking for a low light performer, I'd recommend 85mm 1.2
