Pros: wonderful, little reduction in photo quality

Ive only had this for 3 days but so far Im impressed. Ive done a bit of testing attaching this to my 70-200 F4 L lens and its quite sharp.

If you cant afford another lens, get one of these.

Canon EF 100-300mm f/4.5-5.6 USM

Review Date: Nov 11, 2006 Recommend? yes | Price paid: Not Indicated | Rating: 8

Pros: lightweight reasonably sharp
zoom creep

I have used this lens for many forms of photography and have no problems with it. Images a fairly sharp and Ive won quite a few competitions with photos I used this lens to take them with. Im often asked what lens Im using so I guess it can be compared to better lenses in the right conditions. Mine was secondhand off of Ebay and I think I got a good copy somehow.

here are a few quick snapshots with Ive taken with it, very little PP work apart from crops

Canon EOS 30D

Pros: great build wheel on the back fast camera start up

Ive had the 30D for about six months now. I upgraded from a 300d and could not believe what I had been missing with my sport and wildlife shots. I actually find this an easier camera to work with and the wheel on the back is great. I shoot a lot of higher ISO shots and have no complaints. The thing I like most about this camera is the decent size as I really dislike the smaller DSLRs. 30d is solid and with a battery grip its a very steady camera to use. 8 mega pixels is more than enough and I would recommend this camera to anyone who has past the entry level status.

Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM

Review Date: Oct 24, 2006 Recommend? yes | Price paid: Not Indicated | Rating: 9

Pros: smooth fast focus, very very sharp, beautiful color saturation
hunts a little in low light

Ive only had this lens for just over a week but it has not come off my camera since I got it. I usually have a 100-300 on my 30D so thats saying something. Ive been able to get beautiful sharp close up shots of the inside of flowers, something I had trouble getting before. Im loving the lens right now. It does hunt a little in low light but I am getting the nifty 50mm F1.8 for those low light shots

Canon EOS 30D

Review Date: May 26, 2006 Recommend? yes | Price paid: Not Indicated | Rating: 10

Pros: everything, the speed of the frames per second has sold me as I take a lot of wildlife photos.
Have not found any

I upgraded from the 300D two weeks ago and Ive already taken 4000 shots. Love this camera. Im getting shots I used to miss out on with the 300D.
