Pros: Price, price, price Comes with a hood! Good build quality...
Cons:
Working distance.... Bokeh is nice Useable autofocus on 20D, very useable...

I was stunned at how great pictures are coming from this lens combination and my Canon 20D.

Autofocus is very useable and manual focus is easy to us as well.

This lens is sharp, contrasty and color is very, very good..the vibrant flower macros of deeply saturated purples and oranges etc look very much like the origninal in a calibrated screen.

Easily hand held on a bright day down to 1/30 and 1/60 for me...even better on a tripod etc...

Wondeful bokeh and easily blurs the background....

I hesitated for long time to by a non-Canon lens and this was a birthday 'lark' that turned into a 'swan'!!

I got the DG verision...I actully ordered the non-dg version but 17th street photo sent me a DG version...ok with me works just fine!

Pros: Outstanding, Outstanding , Outstanding... Superb IS Great Bokeh Subject Isolation Capability
Cons:
Price...wish it was faster for the same money.

A wonderful, wonderful lens...

Isolates subjects, hand held shots at 1/60 etc not a real problem, IS is awesome..Beautiful color and wonderful bokeh. The IS makes you like a lens of 300mm length all the more...I dont know why i waited so long to get a lens like this. Close focusing distance is a big plus for me. Wonderful pseudo macro like pix are possible, flowers, butterfly shots are easy to do.

The lens is built lile a tank, and exudes Canon L Lens Quality.

Pros: Very well built. Fast AF. Beautiful Color and Contrast. F2.8 thoughout zoom range.
Cons:
Cost?

After shooting an indoors wedding and most of the shots being at F2.8 and ISO 400/800 I am amazed at the edge to edge sharpness of the shots I took.

None of the wedding participants and many photographers would have a hard time distinguishing between these photos and those taken with a prime lens in the same focal range.

I hesitated buying this lens for a year. I am very satisifed with the overall quality, its built like a tank....and the weight is not an issue with me at all, it exudes quality.

The focus is spot on, no issues..and very fast and silent.

Everytime I think I paid to much for this lens I look at other photos shot on brand X lens and smile....its that good

Highly recommend this lens.
