Pros: The LCD screen...... gotta love that big thing. Dual memory slots and being able to put RAW on one and jpeg on the other. The build is great and the seals again on the 1 series are wonders for wet weather shooting. Blazing speed when needed. Lower noise at higher ISO. The picture styles settings are nice too. Auto rotate of images.
Cons:
Also disappointed in RAW converters available. Having a hard time finding exactly where the fire point is on the shutter button, might need to be "broken in" before it smooths out some. Canon software.

Going from the original 1D to this is a dream, just the larger LCD screen alone makes it worthwhile. From the list above you can see there's alot I like about the camera. Thought I would use the 1D as a backup to this or second body with different lens, but there's just no way to consider it when comparing images from both at the same shoot.
I haven't used the Canon software for several years now and with few RAW converters for the CR2 RAW format I'm just not happy with the DPP program yet.
Did I mention the nice larger screen?? Smile

Pros: speed, focusing
Cons:
no zoom on image review

I was shooting sports/action with a D30 and therefore missed alot of shots while the camera hunted for focus. I knew within the first three shots I had made a good choice moving up to the 1D. After using it for two months now shooting tournaments it has already paid for itself and change. I used to take 70 shots of a basketball game and get 30 keepers, now it's 100 shots with 90 keepers......... glad it's not film.

The only thing I miss is being able to zoom in on the LCD image review to double check the images, but then it's not off very often.
