It is my main walk around lens now. People comepare it with the Tamron 28-75 but most of my friends still want the Canon copy. The build is solid and I like the performance.

Solid build, ofcourse it is an L lens.
Get focus fast in low light situations.
The IS option allow some flexibility in shooting at longer exposure then without the IS.
A bit noisy when in action with the IS on and use up power.
Price is the only draw back but I guess the quality of the lens makes up for the price
