Light weight (relatively), superb sharpness, excellent contrast.

Hood can be fiddly to fit if you are in a hurry.

Upgraded to this from the 'normal' f/4 last year. I thought the old lens was sharp but this is something else. Images really 'pop' and portraits are scarily sharp. Just spent an afternoon shooting a dog agility event and the results are stunning.
Unless you need that extra stop of light, this baby beats the f/2.8 in every respect!
