Pros: Prime lens sharpness on a very versatile zoom lens. Works superbly with the 1.4X teleconvertor and quite well with a 2X teleconvertor.
Cons:
A replacement lens shade is a little pricey.

This is my favorite lens and one of the most impressive lenses I have ever used. I get incredible results with it and use it whenever possible. It is very sharp and delivers beautiful images. Also produces a beautiful bokeh when used at big apertures, e.g. f/2.8. It is my favorite lens as it is so versatile, especially when combined with a 1.4X teleconvertor. Fast throughout the zoom range, and easy to handhold and shoot all day long. One can get a non-IS version of this lens for around $900 and for the quality this lens provides, that is a steal.
