Tokina 19-35mm f/3.5-4.5 AF 193

Review Date: Jul 21, 2006 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $95.00 | Rating: 9

Pros: Good Built Quality. Very sharp optics when stopped down a couple of stops. Autofocus is fast and accurate, also lens doesn't change length when switching between 19mm/35mm or focusing.
Cons:
A little soft at 19mm but very useable. Flare can be a problem sometimes without a hood. A good replacement for "kit lens" on a crop body giving a 30mm / 56mm eq.

Very good lens! It's actually my "walk-around lens" for landscape and gives very good results.

It is not as wide as i want on a 1.6x crop body but that's one cheap lens with tack sharp quality. When looking for lenses, i'll give a second look at tokina now.

Pros: Cheap price, normal quality optics. f2.8-4. Autofocus is fast and accurate. Metal Mount. (Non-DG Version)
Cons:
Very noisy focusing. Front elements rotates.

It's not the sharpest lens you can buy but for less than $60 whan can you complaint?

Buyed this lens to use an EOS Rebel G as a replacement for my mom's kodak p&s. Can't be happyer with them and if it brokes it's ok... Smile

Provides a very good image quality in film at normal 6x8" and normal to average using digital. Some CA's present.

Review Date: Jun 5, 2006 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $80.00 | Rating: 10

Pros: Ultra-Sharp lens. Autofocus very accurate. Focus Ring works smooth and better located than the MKII version.
Cons:
None

After several searching on ebay for a 50mm MKI finally got one attached to an old EOS 750. Smile

Actually it is the sharpest lens i have, optics are great, picture and color quality are amazing and the distance scale (not present with the MKII vers.) comes handy time to time.

Also the build quality compared to the "new" version is better, has a metal mount and things just doesn't feel like are going to fall apart.
