Pros:

Good portrait lens for 1.6x crop. Pretty sharp and responsive. Good build. OK price is selling point.

Soft edges... Not really 'L' sharp. At 8MP or less, look elsewhere for good enlargements.

Good contrast and sharp if you only use the center or have megapixels to spare. Great wide angle range for film. Unsatisfactory sharpness for landscape photography. Edge sharpness suffers particularly (which means you suffer). Objects in the edges cannot be used for perspective.
