I finally took a plunge and bought this lens after agonizing for the last two years due to the high cost and I have no regret about the purchase. I have had this lens for a month or so and love it everytime I use it. The image quality that I get with this lens is amazing.
If you can afford this lens, get one. If you can't, save up because the only regret you're gonna get is not getting it sooner!

This is my third L lens and the IQ that I get from this lens seems to be sharper than my 24-70mm F2.8L and even the 135mm F2L. (I may have gotten a great copy). It is sharp even when it's wide open.
This lens lives on my 1DII 90% of the time since I have gotten it.
