Review Date: Feb 25, 2011 Recommend? yes | Price paid: Not Indicated | Rating: 9

Pros: Fast AF , sharp wide open , bokeh
Cons:
None

This lens is a musthave for each Nikon shooter.
Fast AF . Supercomfortable lightweight yet very allround especially on FF
Very nice bokeh
Fantastic sharpness starting at 2.0 but allready very good at 1.4
Out of 10 shots at 1.4 really 5 or 6 are keepers.
Compared to my very expensive 24-70mm I rate this little monster AAA+
Buying this lens will never end up in a disappointment , if it does then you probably have a bad one , just return it for another .

Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM

ef85mmf_18usm_1_
Review Date: Apr 7, 2010 Recommend? yes | Price paid: Not Indicated | Rating: 9

Pros: Fast AF , usable 1.8 , very sharp starting at 2.5 , colors , bokeh
Cons:
To much CA , very poor hood (very loose clampsystem ) , Canon's arrogancy in not changing this and still asking a lot of dollars / euros is unbelievable.

Top IQ ,
the hood is a disaster and not Canon worthy

Canon EOS 50D

Review Date: Apr 3, 2010 Recommend? yes | Price paid: Not Indicated | Rating: 9

Pros: Detail in images , af micro-adjustment , speed , bodyfeel / handling , screen
Cons:
I would love it when modes where shown in the viewfinder , like M - AV -TV - P etc

I love this camera , it gives me beautiful shots all the time.
Some of the bad reviews are nonsense , when using good glass the detail and sharpness is really incredible.
The AF micro-adjustment is a fantastic thing and helps to get the best out of your lenses.
Noiselevels very good at 1200.
Noisefilter set to high is working very well with not too much loss of detail.
I want to recommended this baby to anyone , especially at the nowadays pricelevels.
I also own a 7D but I consider it just a minor upgrade to 50D

Sigma 50mm F1.4 EX DG HSM

sigma50-14jpg
Review Date: Apr 3, 2010 Recommend? yes | Price paid: Not Indicated | Rating: 9

Pros: Usable wide open , bokeh , build , very good focussing in low-light
Cons:
AF could be more consistant

Much better at 1.4 - 2.0 compared to Canon
Beautiful bokeh
This lens however will almost certainly have frontfocus , like almost of the Sigma's
Highly recommended but only when your cam has micro AF adjustement.
