Pros: Wide lens good for APS SLR's. Quality

Great lens on my 6.3 APS sized Rebel. I sold my 18mm-55mm kit lens and got this one. Photos I took before look quite " lackluster " compared to photos taken with this lens. I must say photos straight out of the camera to the computer look a bit dark to me , but a minute or so with the PHotoshop Elememnt 3 brightens them up. Quality is great and I have blow up many shots to 20 by 30 and sold with this camera and lens combo. ( I do also 24 by 36 three shot vertical stitch shots which come out great blown up as well) No need for the 16.7 meg camera doing this little trick!! The lens also is used on my Cheapy K2 Film Rebel as well and have the full 17mm view is awesome.. I give this lens a 10!!!

Pros: Great light gathering daily driver lens for indoor use on a 1.6 sized digital camera. Built like a tank. Good quality above 2.5

Cost. would be nice to make an L lens like this and add 100.00

Quite a high cost for a small prime non " L" lens. Wish Canon made an L version of this lens. Still , it is a great indoor lens for my Canon Rebel 6.3 APS sensor. Bought it to be a daily driver and needed a nice low light lens. ( I do have the 50mm 1.8 as well but not wide enough for allround use) I use this lens quite a bit on my film based K2 Rebel with Ilford 's Delta 100 Black and White film and a red filter. Quality is nice though not quite up with my 17mm to 40mm L lens. Main problem is 400.00 is alot of money for a non L lens. Pro : great in low light and I don't need to crank up the ISO as high. Great street lens lens even in bad light . This lens and a Russian tank would be a good match and the lens may just win!!! Quality is quite good if not used at 1.8,, but that going for most any lens..
