I got rid of it and bought a Sigma 20-40mm instead. Pictures were always kinda softy and very obscure. I could-not make sparkling images with it, especially under poor light conditions (i.e. interiors of buildings)
I think it is not very bad, much better than the Canon kitlenses so I've heard, but not good enough for me.

Found D70 18-70 kitlens disappointing and was looking out for replacement. Found the Sigma 20-40mm f.2.8 as a special offer and fell for its built quality.
Took a lot of photo's with it and was surprised by the results. Cristal clear and sharp even at 20mm wide open. May not be as good as Nikons pro counterparts, but is much better than kitlens, which produces soft and obscure pictures (anyway mine did...)

Bouht it some time ago as a subsitute for my 18-70 nikkor kitlens (came with D70), which I did-not like at all (soft and most of the time obscure pictures). Needed a lens for my F70 and D70. It's well built and image quality is more than OK. Some people in this forum complain that this lens is not sharp. Incredible, mine is much sharper en contrasty than the nikkor lens.
Got it from a shop in Utrecht (Holland) as a special offer. Glad I got rid of that kitlens.
