Canon EF 28mm f/1.8 USM

ef28mmf_18usm_1_
Review Date: Jul 21, 2014 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $400.00 | Rating: 9

Pros: fast, fast AF, light weight, smooth focus ring, sharp
Cons:
not crazy sharp stopped down

This lens is great. Fast wide angle lens that's pretty darn sharp wide open. My only complaint is that it doesn't get that much sharper closed down even to f/8-11.

Review Date: Jul 21, 2014 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $600.00 | Rating: 10

Pros: tack sharp, colour reproduction, contrast, low vignette, weight, unique look, fast AF, price
Cons:
not weather sealed!

Absolutely, without a doubt, unquestionably, the sharpest 35mm format lens I've ever used.

Great color, beautiful bokeh.
The focus ring is buttery smooth.

This lens is not weather sealed. keep that in mind.

Pros: sharp wide open, lightweight, built in metal lens hood, great solid metal construction.
Cons:
loud autofocus, manual focus ring feels like a toy

The lens that deserves a red ring.

Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L USM

Review Date: Jul 15, 2014 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $1,000.00 | Rating: 9

Pros: Fast aperture, solid build, weather sealing, unique look.
Cons:
somewhat heavy, slow AF, not sharp in the corners regardless of aperture.

I've this lens for a bit now. It's solid, it's hunky, and it's chunky. But damn, it's not funky. This thing is pretty sharp even wide open, but not at all in the corners. In fact, the 1.8 nifty fifty is sharper at 1.8 than this is at 1.8 which is silly.

Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III

Review Date: Aug 27, 2013 Recommend? yes | Price paid: Not Indicated | Rating: 9

Pros: Beautiful sensor, body is really well made,
Cons:
No video, low light

The 1Ds Mark 3 is a beautiful camera. From the moment I bought mine I was in love. I've never used a sensor that know how to deal with funky light better. I would recommend this camera to any photographer, without a doubt.

The only slight downfalls are that this camera can't record video along with it not having the best low light capabilities.

Canon EOS 5D

Pros: Full Frame,
Cons:
Cheap feeling body, bad battery life, small/low res screen

The 5D is the worst feeling camera to hold. It feels like plastic, but it's heavy like metal. The screen is low res, small, and discolored. The menu system is horribly lacking.

The only reason I absolutely love this camera is because it's full frame. Full frame to me is worth more any bells and whistles.
