Price paid: $320.00

Pros:
Cheap, powerful
Cons:
Sigma's poor QC
My DG Super exposes under cca. 2EV in TTL mode. So I need to use it with at least +2.0EV FEC, or in Manual mode.
You can get a Canon 430 EX or a used 550EX for about a same price...
I use it with a 350D, so the ugly plastic body is no problem...

This is my first IS lens. How can I live w/o IS before? ;-) I can take SHARP pictures @300mm with 1/10s, even 0.3s!!!
It's very imposing.

Price paid: $580.00
| Rating: 9
Pros:
Constant F2.8, fast& quiet AF, lightweight, razor sharp.
Cons:
Little soft @ F2.8, AF not 100% reliable
I replaced the kit lens (EF-S 18-55mm) with this baby. It's far better! Razor sharp at the corners too! The AF is fast & quiet as the AF system of my Canon 70-300 IS USM! However, it's not USM Unfortunately the AF is less reliable in low light and/or at homogeneous surfaces compared to my another lenses. ---> switch to MF in these situations.
Lens bag & hood included!
The zoom ring is smooth, good "quality feeling".
