I had 35/2 for a long time and it is a very good lens. Friend of mine was selling his 28/1.8 and i took a chance to compare the two. The results on 10d for these two samples showed 28 is a better lens:
- far more precise focusing
- much less light falloff (vignetting)
- better sharpness at same stops (corners also)
It's useful open, very sharp from 2.5 and extremely sharp from 2.8 on. I'd say 35 catches it from 3.5-4.0. It is a bit more expensive, still i think considering the build quality, it's worth it.
This is my main indoor lens and i highly recommend it as a standard lens for cropped cameras.
