Canon EF 135mm f/2L USM

Review Date: Dec 9, 2007 Recommend? yes | Price paid: Not Indicated | Rating: 10

Pros: Excellent image quality. Very fast focusing on my 5D. Value for money

I have been thinking of this lens for more than 2 years. Finally decided to buy this recently in my Hong Kong trip. Canon lenses are cheapest there. BTW, after a couple of weeks of using it, I love this beast. The IQ is more than I dare hope for, even at f2. I would say it is very close to my EF 500mm F4L IS. It produces creamy and beautiful bokeh. At this price, it is a steal. Enjoy...

Canon EF 500mm f/4L IS USM

Review Date: Mar 30, 2007 Recommend? yes | Price paid: Not Indicated | Rating: 10

Pros: Its so sharp, it hurts. Hardly need post sharpening. Though heavy, but still manageable. Super fast focusing. IS helps a great deal for large long lens.

Just a few shots, I'm convinced this is among the best super telephoto lenses available. It maybe heavy, but, with a monopod, it is still very mobile. No wonder many photographers prefer this to the 600mm F4L. With IS, shot can be taken at about 1/100s with excellent results. Coupled with 1.4x TC, IQ is still excellent. This is the minimum length for birds photography. In short, there is no rival to this lens. Enjoy...

Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM

Review Date: Jul 1, 2006 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $1,085.00 | Rating: 9

Pros: Very fast focusing speed, very very good IQ, very handholdable.

After more than 1 month of using this lens, mostly indoor taking stage events, I dare say this is THE BEST. The image qaulity is close to the EF200 f2.8L but the latter is a prime, not as versatile as this 70-200. I've also shooting it with 1.4x TC II, the image quality only suffer a little. They are a great combination. This lens is very very good. Enjoy...

Canon EF 300mm f/4L IS USM

Review Date: Jun 18, 2006 Recommend? yes | Price paid: Not Indicated | Rating: 10

Pros: Very handholder even without IS. Fast focusing and extremely sharp.
IS operation noisy. Too used to silent canon usm lenses

Just have this lens for 2 days and enjoying every moment of it, more so than the ever so popular 70-200mm f2.8L. It works extremely well with EF 1.4x TC. Comparing to my the other L prime, 200mm f2.8L, its IQ and operation is on par against it. Since I bought it used, (in mint condition), it worth every single cents I paid. Enjoy...

Canon EF 200mm f/2.8L II USM

Review Date: Jan 28, 2006 Recommend? yes | Price paid: Not Indicated | Rating: 10

Pros: Very very sharp image, even wide open. Very fast focusing. It is light enough to carry around. It is relative cheap.
Not as versatile as my dream lens, ef70-200mm f2.8L IS.

I saw this lens on my favorite shop. I wasn't exactly looking for this lens, in fact I want a 135L. But after 1 week of testing, my heart refused to return it, and at this price, its too good to let go.
This is lens is a gems. It is very hand holdable. Most of the photos I took on a local amateur soccer match are very sharp. Trying it on flowers, the saturation and bokeh are excellent.
This lens is not very much appreciated by many photographers due to its in between range. But, I'm in love with it. Next month, I will bring it along for a local paino concert show. I think it will be the best situation for this lens to perform. Enjoy...

Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM

Review Date: Oct 18, 2005 Recommend? yes | Price paid: Not Indicated | Rating: 9

Pros: Very sharp and value for money, not too heavy to carry around for street photography.
If it could have a stop faster, but then have to pay double.

I dumped my EF-S 10-22mm for this lens, as I foresee I'll be getting a FF Canon DSLR soon. Initial impression of this lens is very good. Test pics are very sharp and with very good contrast. This is a much better lens than the EF-S 10-22m for about the same price. I think I'm bitten by L bugs. Enjoy...

Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM

Review Date: Sep 2, 2005 Recommend? yes | Price paid: Not Indicated | Rating: 10

Pros: Extremely sharp. Very managable for macro works due to its size.
Too sharp for portraits, if I'll to cmplaint.

Just have a for a couple of weeks, didn't really do any serious macro works, but did took a few beautiful pictures of one of my regular models. This lens is extremely sharp. It shows everything and hiding nothing. So I've to shoot wide open to soften the subject. An incredible lens to have.
