Sigma 15mm f2.8 EX Diagonal Fisheye

15mm_Lg_1_
Review Date: Feb 3, 2006 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $350.00 | Rating: 9

Pros: cost performance, sharpness, build quality, bokeh, color reproduction
Cons:
not HSM, finish wears away quickly, tape inside hood ring is low budget

To anybody looking for a fisheye lens, I recommend this lens without reservation.

Sure it has its drawbacks, but it's a game day player. There are few lenses out there with this performance at this price.

Sigma 20mm f/1.8 EX DG Aspherical RF

Review Date: Jan 27, 2006 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $300.00 | Rating: 7

Pros: Sharp, wide yet fast
Cons:
Incompatibility on 20D with ext. flash, weight, not HSM, finish scratches off easily, 82mm filter size

!! CANON 20D USERS BEWARE !!

This is a fast, sharp lens that worked perfectly on my Digital Rebel.

Then I bought a 20D, and I found an incompatibility between Sigma lenses and Canon bodies.

In low light situations, this lens CANNOT focus correctly. It focuses at infinity if you use the assist beam of an external flash.

So I took this lens back to the Sigma service station in Tokyo along with a Sigma 24-70mm F/2.8 with the same problem, and they told me they had never heard of this incompatibility. I guess they don't read any of the forums. On top of that, they were unable to fix the problem.

So they sent it back having performed only minor calibrations that didn't fix the problem.

This lens is a great value that gives awesome results under most conditions. Just becareful putting it on a 20D in low-light conditions. Same is true for the pre-macro version of the Sigma 24-70mm F/2.8 EX.
