Canon EOS 10D

Review Date: Oct 1, 2008 Recommend? yes | Price paid: Not Indicated | Rating: 9

Pros: Great quality with good glass, cheap (many excellent low frames on ebay) Sturdy and well built much better than 350 or even the 20D. Nice colours.
Slow start-up, and review and slow transfer buffer. But not really a problem considering the end results.

Been using the 10D as a main camera up unitl I go my EOS 1Ds. Still use it regularly and although it does not match up to the quality of the 1Ds its not so far behind.
I have found it to be reliable (never missed a frame) , the exposure system is great and apart from the negatives already identified its a great little workhorse ( I have taken over 40,000 frame with it without any problems)
I will be keeping this camera as my backup and have no intention of replacing it with anything other than a 1D. Will even consider picking up another used one or two.
Would recommend to anyone as a cheap way to get pro results at a economic price.

Pros: Bought used off ebay. 1000 for 9580 actuation in perfect condition. What a camera if used properly, its no toy and takes great pics with careful handling and some basic the FF images, great colours and sharpness (a little soft straight out of the camera in RAW easily fixed in PS). This camera ROCKS...!!!
Slowwwwwwwwww buffer can be annoying, Great for my landscape work.

I used this on my Canon 10D and it gives great results, good colour and sharpness, quite and accurate AF a real keeper.

Sigma 15-30mm f3.5-4.5 EX Aspherical DG DF

Review Date: Sep 12, 2008 Recommend? yes | Price paid: Not Indicated | Rating: 8

Pros: Excellent new cost and even better used. Sharp, well built and can be used on FF and Film cameras.
No filter thread and hood adapter unusable on FF. A little soft wide open.

I have 2 of these fantastic lenses, one for Nikon crop camera I use and one foe FF Canon 1Ds. The both are super sharp and don't far behind Canon and Nikon zoom lenses. If your on a tight budget or just like great value for your $$ then I would recommend this lens. I see very little differance in quality, if I don't pixel peep.
