Makes other lenses feel inadequate. AF is "delibrate" but not nearly as bad as I expected... Haven't made it hunt yet. More than adequate for candids.

I never thought I'd enjoy a zoom this much.
The center sharpness is perhaps a hint off the best L primes (135L), but its still quite crisp, even wide open. Stopped down, the center sharpness holds steady but the edges come up to a really nice, even resolution across the full-frame.
Superb wide angle for a full frame cam.

I traded my 70-200 F/4 zoom for this and a 1.4TC, and I can't say enough good things about this bad boy. Its really just an amazing, amazing piece of glass. My favorite photos consistently come from this lens. The AF speed is out of this world as well, so I get shots I would've missed on something slower. @189 f/2.8, this lens is at LEAST as sharp as my 70-200 zoom was.

Minor shift in focal length when focusing due to IF... not a big deal, but be aware of it.

My favorite lens. This baby is sharp! It feels solid and the IQ is impeccable. I've had no problems with AF speed when using the range limiter. Superb!
