Jan Bart,
You are the first person (out of literally hundreds of reviewers) either pro or amateur who feels this camera has not improved over it's forebear. "No significant improvements?"
Do you really believe that? Do you even own a camera?

Actually I was wondering about Mr Comair CRJ review. He is the only reviewer who has called this camera a piece of junk (5 rating). I have read nothing but positive things from both owners and pro reviewers about the Mk2 (I have seen at least 50 reviews).
Mr Comair, how long have you owned your 5D Mk2?
Based on you comments, have you retuned it yet?
Best,
Ed
I don't own this camera (yet) which is why I have not rated it.

I've only had this lens for a few days but I'm very impressed with how accurate and sharp it is (yes even at 200mm). I will admit that at 200mm and 2.8 it's a bit soft (for a large print) but by f8 its tack sharp. I have a 21" HD monitor and I can fill the whole screen with an image shot at 200mm and have printed a 13" X 19" (Canon Pro 9000) copy and it looks great. I know a lot of guys have complained that this lens is soft at 200mm at any apeture but I dissagree. Anyway, great IS, color and fast AF. I'm giving it a 10 for my copy anyway. Very pleased.

Actually, I'm trying to post a review of the Canon Pro 9000 printer but there seems to be no way to create a review for a product thats not already here.
Am I missing something? Any help is appreciated. I look back here for some instructions.

not the 24mm

Love this prime. Great for clubs, seminars or anywhere that flash is either a detriment or not useful. To be honest, I really wanted the 24mm but it was soft at the edges to f4 - couldn't live with that. But I'm real happy with it. Love to see it on a FF. Great product!

Bit heavy, mild ca, wish it was a 2.8

I got this lens as a "stay on the camera most of the time do it all kind of lens" and its been great. Some argue its not sharp, but mine is fine. I made some comparisons with my 35 f1.4 L and my 135 f2.0 L and I must tell you it's hard to see a difference. There is some mild ca in harsh transitions - but its easy to avoid. I wish it was a 2.8. I'd sell my other lenses - not! I love my primes, but zooms have come a long, long way.
Try it, you'll like it!
