Reading the litany of negative comments of people who do not remember when getting a great image at ISO 100 was a miracle, and think that now if it can't shoot great images at ISO 25,000, then it's crap!

I sold my 20D to get a 5D when it was released. The 5D is a phenomenal image producer. But, since then I have missed the advantage of a crop factor, so when the 50D came out, I jumped. I have no regrets, except that I can't use my 5D and 50D for everything, there is now a choice that has to be made. Of course, each has its own strengths, which are enumerated in other reviews, but neither camera could ever been seen as anything but a joy to own and use.
