I waited to after taking 1,000 pictures plus before rating this lens. I have taken many great shots with very few surprises.
IS would make this lens perfect.

Number of good shots(keepers) near 100%. Photos are sharp both on film and digital. Seams to work better in low light conditions than my 24/70 L 2.8

This lens has been fun to use. performs exactly as canon said it would. The reviews on this site were right on the money.
I wish my other lenses were as sharp and clear as this one.
