I have a third party lens in the same range which I bought a few years back. There is absolutely no comparison between the image quality and responsiveness of the two lenses. I am not a professional and cannot afford L-glass currently. This lens gives me what I was looking for: comfortable weight and great pictures.
I bought the lens in South Africa - we always pay a lot more than US and GB.
