Zeiss 35mm f/2 Distagon T*

35mm
Review Date: Aug 16, 2010 Recommend? yes | Price paid: Not Indicated | Rating: 10

Pros: Sharp at center started from wide aperture, very creamy boken, color reproduction very rich, very easy to capture in low light condition with slow shutter speed.
Cons:
Non.

I love this lens (sure look at how I'm scoring), it very versatile as street photo as same as low light condition.
Very fun and enjoy with this lens even shooting video, the lens present a very bright clear and rich color video clip, in the same time it separated front subject out from the background in very pleasant mood.
find out some photo sample here..http://www.pbase.com/chounws3/gow_hong_100_years_market

Zeiss 85mm f/1.4 Planar T*

85mm
Review Date: Aug 3, 2010 Recommend? yes | Price paid: Not Indicated | Rating: 9

Pros: excellence sharpness even wide open, sweet 3d look boken, very special charactor when shooting wide open in low and mix light condition, very very well build quality,
Cons:
focus shift at very close range (1m to 1.5m) but can manage with AF micro-adjustment on camera or using live-view still and movie mode

I love this lens, even focus shift happen but I found can manage with AF micro-adjustment on my 5D2 and if I use tripod with live-view still or movie mode then it will stop down the apperture to the select one then it not an issue anymore. Just starting my review here http://www.pbase.com/chounws3/zeiss_85mm_f14_ze
will come with focus shift testing later.
Enjoy your lens as mind.

Review Date: Aug 2, 2004 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $1,268.00 | Rating: 10

Pros: Sharp @wide open, very good contrast and color reproduction, resolution is very good and not seen any drop on sharpness with EF1.4X combination, IS mode is very usefull for hand holding.
Cons:
none

my interesting for this lens is Bird photo which I could not buy a very expensive prime lens for this moment.
This combination 300f4 IS with EF1.4xII is very good for me to start get myself into this birding photo.
Here the link to some sample of what result I got from this lens.

Updated: So far I'm very happy with this combination, one point that have to awared, since the picture I take with 1D MarkII I found that the contrast and color saturation has to increase a bit (one step each in camera setting) for this combination.

Canon EOS 1D Mark II

1D2
Review Date: Jun 21, 2004 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $4,450.00 | Rating: 10

Pros: Build quality, fast performance with SD flash, Focus accurate (far better than 10D), Battery usage life, image quality and fast preview.
Cons:
Expensive and size

This is a second Digital Canon SLR after 10D, the impression of this camera is a build quality (for sure because it the first thing you can see after open the box). The focus performance is the next thing I looking for during testing the camera and up to now I would confirmed that it is good and accurate even using 100-400L IS with EF1.4x II which come to f8 but the sensor (only in the middle that it still work in this condition) is still keep doing work accurate and fast enough.
At beginning, I'm a bit surprise about the softness of the picture direct out from the camera but after work with Raw converter it not an issue for me anymore.
The battery is also the next thing I keep looking, because I'm not a photographer as professional (not earn from it) even I started my first battery charging on the first day I bought this camera (05 June 2004) but I didn't use it everyday (only on week-end) and keep the battery out off camera when not using. Until now after 588 pictures the battery sign still shown full, quite good and still waiting for "How many pictures I could take from one full charged?".

you could check the picture by going into this bellow link.

Last updated: I could took pictures until 1120 before the battery is realy empty, very good
