Canon made a zoom with IS for people who cant afford the L price. Well, you get what you are paying for.
Stay away from that lens. Save morem and get yourself a good monopod with an L zoom without IS.

I was looking for a tele zoom with IS for hiking, and the DO wont be the one.
Get a white zoom if you really want a good tele zoom. Forget the DO.

Everytime I get a new lens, Im never sure its a good copy. But this time, Im sure I have a good one, a perfect one actually.
My 50mm 1.8 is giving me the sharpest images I never had. Simply amazing. Even at 1.8, its sharper than many lenses I had in the past.
Im now considering to get 2 more primes now. The 85 1.8 and probably the 28 or the 35mm.

I took a lot of amazing pictures with this lens. If you cant afford the 17-40 L, this is the lens you need.
(Like the 17-40 , a hood and a pouch are included with this lens).

I returned this lens after only 1 day. I think its too soft from 17 to 35mm. Its also only F4 wide open.
For 100$ more, you can get the 17-40L.
