Review Date: Aug 16, 2006 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $1,620.00 | Rating: 10

Pros: Sharp, really fast and quiet zoom, build construction and overall quality....
Cons:
maybe the price, but you'll get what you pay for.

I've bought this lens in a trip to USA 1 month ago, and since then I'm in love with it.
Love the IS, the 2.8 aperture along the range, the build quality, the colours and the really sharp images I can get with it.
The bokeh is wonderfull.

I'm always waiting for a break to take them out and make some pictures.

Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM

EF10-22
Review Date: Apr 2, 2006 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $600.00 | Rating: 9

Pros: Great field of view, very sharp, not too heavy, low distortions (lines are pretty straight for a wide angle lenses)
Cons:
A little bit of aberration in high contrast scenes. Focus and zoom rings switched from "L".

Bought my copy in december, and i'm in love with it from then. Very low distortion for a wide angle lens (i use it for architectural photo), easy to fix with PS.
I love the colors and the sharp, very close to "L" series.
I can't give it a 10 because of the colour aberration at high contrast borders, (not too high, but enought for get it somwhere under 10).

If you need a wide angle, buy this.

Review Date: Mar 31, 2006 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $950.00 | Rating: 9

Pros: Sharp, IS, ultra-fast focusing, build quality....
Cons:
Some geometrical distortions at ends (none significant if you're not an architectural shooter)

Bought a (good, I think) copy of this last january, and my photos are a step forward since then.
Quality is really high, focusing is ultra fast and images looks sharp, a lot.
The only negative aspect is the distortion (is there all the range) if you shoot architectural, because is extrange mix between barrel and pincushion, hard to fix. But not noticeable if used far from geometrical compositions.

Great lens.
