Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM

Review Date: Mar 24, 2017 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $1,800.00 | Rating: 10

Pros: IQ and sharpness are the best yet .. Possibly Canons best.
Weight ... Price ... But you can't fool Mother nature or physics.

NOTE .. I had the 70 - 200 F/4 L non IS previously for several years.
If you carry 2 cameras at same time .. suggest you go with the above lighter version.
I no longer carry 2 cameras at once.
If you carry 1 camera and or care about quality go with the 70 - 200 2.8 v II.

Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM

Review Date: Aug 21, 2014 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $1,150.00 | Rating: 10

Pros: Good magnification, sharpness, IQ, manageable weight at great price.

This was a refurb from Canon Direct at their sale price in great condition.
Seldom in stock but I lucked out ..
Compare to the less pricey Sigma or the very pricey Canon 200 - 400 ..
If you think motorized zoom consider the added weight size cost etc ..
If you think faster than 5.6 consider same as above ..
If you think built in TC .. Yes yes yes but stay away from $ 12 K lenses.

Canon EF 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5 USM

Review Date: Mar 13, 2008 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $125.00 | Rating: 9

Pros: Good all around zoom - excellent price value.
Lens Zoom tube is a bit soft.

My most used lens on 20D / 10 D.
Best for people face shoots and softer look portraits/fashion on 1.6x cameras - OK for Landscapes.

Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM

Review Date: Feb 26, 2007 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $525.00 | Rating: 10

Pros: Sharp images, Crisp focus, Lite weight, Good Value compared to 2.8 and IS versions

My first L Grade Lens and I bought it just before my Alaska Trip and cruise. I also use it for wedding closeup's with both 10D and 20D.
It is long enough but short enough for some wildlife and helicopter use.
