Tamron Tamron SP 150-600mm F5-6.3 Di VC USD G2

Review Date: Oct 11, 2016 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $1,549.00 | Rating: 9

Pros: Sharp at all focal lengths, Superb VC, Focal limiter, Metal lens barrel, Flex zoom lock, Fast focusing
Cons:
A little heavy, Would be better if 5.6, does not zoom as smoothly as Canon or Nikon.

The second generation of Tamrons SP 150-600mm is definitely superior optically to the generation one. I had first version for 2 years and used it for sports, birding and occassional wind surf photos. The first thing I have noticed is the speed and accuracy of the AF is as good as any zoom I have tried bar the super 10k ones.

The VC is top notch and make the lens totally hand holdable. Also, several new features have been adde like Flex zoom lock, Fluorine Coatings. The new lens delivers outstanding performance has a luxury feel to the metal, looks great, and works as Tamron say.
