Pros: Fast, Sharp(from f/2) & nice colour, Optics good,
Cons:
Soft wide open, Micro USM, Build quality

It,s very sharp from about f/2. But I don't like the cheap build quality & micro-USM.

Review Date: Nov 21, 2003 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $1,300.00 | Rating: 10

Pros: Image quality, Very sharp, IS, Minimum focus distance 1,5 m, Build quality
Cons:
None

Very sharp even wide open. Works good together with the 1,4x extender. Very easy to handhold. And I really like the 1,5 m minimum focus distance. It make the lens great for shoting butterflies & dragonflies.

Review Date: Nov 19, 2003 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $1,400.00 | Rating: 6

Pros: Good build quality, fast, nice colour
Cons:
Price, Very soft wide open, Size & weight

It's too soft wide open. After reading so many good reviews on this lens I was expecting more from it. Nice colour & contrast but I have to stop it down to much.

Review Date: Nov 19, 2003 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $850.00 | Rating: 10

Pros: Very very sharp, fast, beautiful bokeh
Cons:
None

This lens is incredibly sharp, even wide open. Great colour & contrast. It's my favorite lens. It's probably the only lens that I never hesitate to use wide open all the time.

Pros: Good range, IS, Image quality, Price
Cons:
Barrel extending when zooming, Soft wide open

Because the lens has a very good range I use it a lot. It's also a very good travel lens. And the image quality is pretty good compared to the price of the lens.
