Pros: IQ is as good as it gets, AF is quick and accurate, no loss in IQ or AF speed with the supplied TC, reasonably light in weight
Cons:
The price is extreme until you use it and then all is forgiven (sort of)

I have owned or used all of the Nikon and Canon long lenses, most recently the version II of the Canon lenses. Just sold the Canon 800 IS to get this lens. I was expecting it to be better and an upgrade from the Canon 800 because of the age of the Canon lens, however this baby is over the top better. My all time favorite long lens was the Canon 600 II, however the Nikon 800 VR tops it. Good job Nikon!
