Convienent, walk around lens, great for travel, very good quality

Cons:

Drastically less sharp than the Canon 15mm 2.8 fish

Though contrast is excellent and resolution is very good for a zoom, it cannot compare to the resolution of my Canon 15 fish. It has become a permanent resident to my retired XSI. For travel weight and size, this combo is hard to beat. Unfortunately I am a recovering pixel peeper and just cant go back now that I have been shooting my new 5DM2 with my Canon 15mm.
My wife loves it for its size but even she sees the difference readily when we compare photos. It isnt just the %dM2 either as other lenses show not near the marked difference when compared.
It is worth mentioning that the focus switch is stuck on AF on my copy, so I have to ding Tokina on that.
Great for starter or travel if you arent too picky about sharpness.

I've owned 3 copies of this lens. They were used on Canon 30D & 40D bodies.
I absolutely love this lens. All copies were sharp and showed no variation from one another. Being able to have 180 deg. on an aps-c was welcomed. Being able to zoom to 17mm for near rectilinear wide images was a Godsend!
I've always disliked fisheyes because of their limited use but this variation on the theme has blown my mind. Truly an artists lens in that you can have very dynamic perspectives from such a seemingly minor zoom range.
Rectilinear corrected images shot at 10mm showed distortions at the edges but fared far better than I expected. This lens is sharp. Build quality is solid and it has the weight you'll like on your dslr, (as opposed to some flimsy kit lenses).
If I still had a crop body I would definitely own this lens.
