What's to say that's not been said already? It is heavy and it has a sticky out bulbous front element but this is a class act. I've been wanting one for years and finally I have one and all I can say is that it is impressive.
It's better at the widest end but for me not an issue as I tend to be between 14 and 20mm, the 24-70 covers 24mm for me. It is super sharp and *way* crisper than my old Canon 16-35L.
The overall 'look' is very good indeed. Highly recommended :-)

weights a ton, but it's worth it, it's huge but it's worth it, not easy to find filters (I got the LEE SW150 and I feel like I am shooting large format) but it's worth it and expensive but.... :-)

Usable with canon, it's as sharp as lens can get, I got new dimension in landscape photographing with this lens, ++ Now I can have friends from both sides C&N... Thank's Nikon for this piece of gold!

Firs I thought manual focusing might be a problem with my 5dmk2, but I forgot that very soon after using it it's practically always in focus when 3ft away from the target and who needs filters nowadays anyway.

I'm happy landscape photographer from the northern hemisphere Finland and I have always wanted to try Nikon gear... my sister is Nikon girl and when I visit her I sometimes keep her N body in my hands but this is all I can do with it... my brains are not Nikon orientated and I feel like I'm holding newborn baby that looks like it just feel so uncomfortable that it will start this noisy screaming, so I let it be where it belongs. I have always had some complains about Canon wide angles and It was hopeless to find great performer for the fullframe body, luckily I heard about this adapter for 14-24mm and then I started to arrange this mission impossible to make adoption from Nikon civilization to Canon family. I'm happy I did because now I know better how to live in peace with the nikonians.

Sharp throughout frame even wide open, gorgeous colours, ease of operation with 16:9 adapter on Canon body, don't need to buy filters as Aperture program has that covered.

Just an amazing lens on my 5d and Mark III; thank God for the 16:9 adapters so us Canon folk can enjoy this beauty! Using the manual focus, with the confirmation chip, is a breeze and controlling the aperture with the lever is effortless. Truly a joy to use and is better then anything Canon has ever made in this range ( prime or zoom )

I bought this lens second hand and used it for about 2 months. This lens produces very beautifull images and is fast and tops in several regards.
What I did not like was it's weight and I did definitely not like the vulnarable bulb on the front. I constantly needed to think about not scratching it. I could have lived with the weight but not with that bulb. So I sold it.

What more can be said about this lens that has not already been said? There is no shortage of technical reviews, all verifying that in terms of wide-angled lenses, this is the one.
I use the lens on a D3x, which is a demanding camera in terms of details and sharpness. I find the 14-24 surpasses the 24-70 in terms of sharpness and color.

I do a lot of portrait shooting and wedding photography here in the Miami Florida area. This is one of my favorite lenses to use period. If you like shooting wide and are looking for a mega sharp lens with limited distortion this is the one for you.

Probably one of the best wide angle lens on the market. It is so good that I am decided to buy it and use it on my Canon cameras. I use a converter so I can attach this lens to my Canon 5D Mark II. This way I have 24megapixel Canon quality with this amazing lens. I have used all Canon's wide angle lens (including the high end prime wide lenses) and none of them can match this one. There is no Canon lens like this. PERIOD. If you have Nikon, you must buy this. If you have Canon, well, wake up (!) get a converter, buy this lens and start shooting high quality wide angle images!

Several month ago I'm switched from Canon to Nikon. I was shocked, when I first time tried this lens. It is huge difference between Canon 16-35 f2,8II and Nikon 14-24 f2,8 lenses.No doubt, it is the best UWA zoom lens in the world!!!!!

Works fantastically well on my Canon cameras. Much better than any wide offerings made by Canon. Absolutely love this lens even if I have to manually focus & do the aperture - a very small price to pay. The adapter works very well

Not sealed, but that is my own fault for using it on a canon body. Not super heavy. The front element being a little exposed is scary. The lens cap is pretty dicey - don't pick it up by that thing or you are begging for an insurance claim.

I absolutely love this lens when used with a 16-9.net adapter on my Canon bodies. The width is absolutely fantastic and opens a lot of creative doors. The corners are sharp, the center is sharp, the color is great, the contrast is great. I was thinking about the Zeiss 21/2.8, which is in it's own right a great lens, but I am glad that I stuck with a zoom (I am just not a prime person - I need versatility). What a fantastic piece of glass, I wish Canon would step up to the plate and deliver something this good. Until then, I will be happy manually focusing this beautiful behemoth.

This lens and 24-70 is the must have lens. I had Carl Zeiss 18mm f3.5 and though no need to have another wide angle lens even though I heard so many people even friend saying good about 14-24. I finally give it a shot to rent one to try out and... end up to own one too :-). Now I use it more than Carl Zeiss. Zeiss 18mm f3.5 is an excellent but Nikon 14-24 can match Zeiss 18mm at every aperture. I have a chance to play with both and hardly to tell which one is the best. Although, Nikon 14-24 give me more flexibility than Zeiss 18mm.
All I can say is that it's one of the best wide angle lens out there so far.

Heavy, zooming while pointed towards ground or sky can be a bit harder, price is pretty high, no filters, minor distortion at extreme corners at 14-16mm. Minor quibles though.

This lens is the king of wide, and built like a tank. It's resolving power is nothing short of amazing, and it's color rendition is simply gorgeous. Wonderful contrast mixed with a suprising amount of flare resistance make for a simply incredible lens that pairs very well with either a 24-70 or 28-75.
It's limitations are limited, mainly weigh a good amount and can unbalance a D700 without a grip. It has some minor distortion at the extreme corners at 14-16mm, sort of a bemdng and pulling of the scene like a fun house mirror.
