Pros:
small, light, great optic, well built, very good AF, great color rendition.
Cons:
f2.8 is not as sharp, but usable, zoom creeps, no MF overide.
The AF is not as fast as Canon, sometimes you need to try a few time to get a accurate focus. zoom ring is not as smooth as canon either. for the price, nothing to complain.

Pros:

Close to the Sharpness and contrast of my 28-70L...actually got it as a backup for that lens. I found myself taking it along on most shoots because of its small size/weight. Build is very solid for the price...not L quality but still excellent.
Cons:
no distance scale, no HSM, only 24mm lock, broke hood first day(sigma did replace it free of charge though)
Great lens for those looking for L-ish quality on a budget or as a backup. For the price you can't go wrong...although i did end up selling this lens for the popular 24-70 2.8 Sigma EX because of its larger range.

EX-s are there just matching the L-s and for the much better price.
This particular one will make you pretty unique(...just 'few' being sold) user for the reason I do not know.
Great lens!!!

Pros:

SHARP and contrasty throughout. Picture quality is a tad lower than the Canon 28-70 2.8 L lens IMHO (but you can't see any difference with the naked eye). And I only paid $360!!! Highly recommend this lens!

Quick responsive AF, Comes with lens hood and lens bag, sharp pictures, nice colours, cheap, quality for price, size of lens, good weight,

Cons:

Rumors with use on 20D, lock only on 24mm

I have shot about 6000 shots with my sigma lens on my canon 300D so far and haven't had any problems what so ever. It has seen quite a bit of dust and bad weather conditions and still produces great shots. The 2.8 for me works well and am not scared to shoot at 2.8 on a regular basis. Considering the canon is multiple times more expencive, this lens is a great little travel lens which covers a semi landscape to fantastic portraits. If size, build quality and motor noise is an issue, this is the lens for you. Purchased from sigma4less.com which was the cheapest price at time of purchase.

Very sharp, good contrast, very good colors. Light, short and easy to handle, but well built.

Cons:

Limited focal range.

This is a very underrated little lens. It's a nice walkaround lens for a 1.6X camera and takes some incredibly sharp, well-contrasted pictures. Only downside is the short focal range compared to competitors.

Slightly warm and contrasty when you shoot frames with a lot of greens and reds, but easily adjusted with software. Sharp from f4 and up. At 2.8 very acceptable for prints up to 10 x 15.
